Without further ado I'll hand over to Geralyn...

Hi Everybody! I am thrilled to be featured here on Rebekah Louise’s lovely blog – thank you Rebekah Louise. I want to tell you all about the short story I released last week, “In Her Space,” which is FREE on Amazon between the 22-26 March. In the story, a sixty-four year-old law librarian lives quietly, content with all she has survived in life. But when she discovers a homeless young man living under her house, life begins to change – for both of them.

This story was originally released as part of anthology last year, Love Unlimited. And I am happy to say that reviewers often mentioned my story as one that touched them.

“It was touching and emotional and an inspiring story of selfless love.” –Jennifer Broenner

“This tale left me full of hope that there can still be good in the world.” –Ali The Dragon Slayer

“Love, empathy and kindness are shown to be powerful tools to connect with others and promote healing.” –Kendra

“I found this story emotional and well written, but at the same time full of human kindness.” –Katrina Marie

My story’s warm reception last year means so much to me because this story was my first non-romantic comedy – and I am thrilled readers have been enjoying it so much! So why did I write a non-romcom, when I have written four romcom novels and six romcom short stories, which have won awards and been bestsellers? I was inspired by all the time I’ve spent crawling underneath houses.

Yes, you read that right. Out here in Los Angles where I live, few houses have basements or cellars – most simply have crawl spaces underneath. So why have I spent so much time crawling in these tight, dark spaces? To rescue animals, of course. My husband and I have been rescuing animals for many years, and we often have to retrieve animals from under houses or go looking for a lost animal under a house. For instance, over a decade ago, we found our cat Chick under a neighbor’s house after he had been missing for 10 days! And once my husband crawled 300 feet under a strip mall to retrieve a stray black cat that wouldn’t come out, and the mall was about to be fumigated! (He got the cat and all was well.) And all this crawling around under buildings got me thinking …

I hope you download my short story for free and enjoy it as much as other readers have. And if you do read and enjoy it, I would love a review from you an Amazon – it is so hard to get reviews for short stories, but short stories need the attention on such a big marketplace like Amazon. So if you leave a review, Thanks!

And feel free to enjoy my other works as well. Because no matter the tone, my stories are always about making life better by learning to become comfortable in your own skin and finding the people in this life who “get” you.

And thank you, Rebekah Louise, for hosting me today on your delightful blog!
