What inspired you to write Love, Life & Dreams?
I enjoy connecting with people through writing, so I began writing short stories. I entered some of the stories into competitions and gained positive and constructive feedback. I then went onto expand the characters and the stories to share with others.
Who are your favourite authors and why?
I enjoy reading a range of authors. Some of my favs at the moment are Sophie Kinsella and Jane Fallon. I enjoy the light hardheartedness of the characters and the plots. I find it's great escapism.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not writing?
I love being with my family, my preference would be to take a day trip out or to go for a meal (Nowhere fancy a Pizza is great). I also love to meet up with friends and sip coffee (hence the pics on Instagram) while the kids play.
Any thoughts about a second book?
Yes, I have an idea which may link into one of the short stories I have published in Love, Life & Dreams. We shall see what happens when I sit down to write.
What's your favourite chocolate bar?
This is a tough one. I think I would have to go for Cadbury’s Marvellous Creations.
What’s your favourite colour?
Can I have two? Purple & Pink.
What would you say to others wanting to write?
Go for it. Write away and then when you can’t think of anything else to write, re-read, ask for a friend’s opinion and perhaps a little research (Okay probably quite a lot of research). I also think that short stories are a great way to get started as it gives you a project to work on and you can reach the end result quicker. Enter competitions as I did and gain feedback so you can improve. Every author you ask will say read lots, but it’s true. Especially the genre you wish to write for. Hopefully your confidence will grow from reading widely and from the feedback you receive.
