Two months ago my family and I went to America for three weeks to travel around the West Coast. We had an amazing time whilst driving through three states, California, Nevada and Arizona. Every day was packed full of sightseeing and activities, one of those activities was 'The Last Book Store' in LA. I had seen pictures on the internet and just from the quirkiness of the decor, I knew I would be missing out if I didn't go.
So a couple of days before we flew home we stopped at the book store. It lived up to expectations, I absolutely loved the uniqueness and atmosphere of the store. As you can see from the pictures we took, there is a labyrinthine of eye-catching book arrangements to keep you busy. People were sat around reading and mooching through rows and rows of used and new books.
I have a three year old son who loves his books, so I was happy when I saw a children's section of
delightful books. My husband kindly took our son off to have a look through their selection of books, whilst I tried to find my way around the women's fiction section.

The idea behind the store (hence the name) is to encourage the selling and trading of books (and records) to keep paperbacks alive. I personally don't mind an e-book or a paperback book, however, it is lovely to see a shop dedicated to paper & hard backs.

I did think some of the new books were overpriced, however, to balance it out there were shelves of used books for $1. It would have also been nice to have had a coffee shop inside the store, so you can grab a book, enjoy a coffee whilst surrounded by the unusual and creative book displays.
