Book Review: I've Got Your Number by Sophie Kinsella (no spoilers, I promise).
A summary of the book blurb - I've Got Your Number:
A couple of glasses of bubbly with the girls and Poppy's life has gone into meltdown. Not only has she lost her engagement ring, but in the panic that followed, she's lost her phone too. When she spots an abandoned phone in a bin it seems it was meant to be...Finder's keepers! Except the phone's owner, elusive businessman Sam Roxton, doesn't agree.
I enjoyed this book, from the beginning I was engaged in the story. One thing that I loved was Sophie's idea to add footnotes to some of the pages. I thought this was a very original idea for a novel and they had me laughing. I also found myself looking for a footnote when there wasn't one - such a simple and creative idea to add a little humour.
I did get a little lost with who was who within Sam's company, who said and did what and some of the technicalities around the business. However, it didn't spoil the story for me.
The story line and what happens to the characters is predictable, however I do think that the way Sophie got to the end was interesting. There were a couple of surprises that I didn't see coming and it did add another dimension to the story. The twists and turns kept me interested and it may have even brought a little tear to my eye at the end.
Overall, I enjoyed the book and yes I would recommend it.
